How it works

Real Time SDA Coverage

The SIGHT upgrade features high performance optics that provide real-time local awareness near satellites. Images, astrometric, and photometric data can be used to identify orbital hazards.

Retrofit Onto Existing Satellites

The SIGHT upgrade has its own independent power source and communications. It also features on board data processing. These features reduce dependency on the host satellite, minimizing potential disruptions.

What you can do with SIGHT

With the SIGHT upgrade, unprepared satellites can be equipped with object detection and avoidance capabilities.

Identify Orbital Hazards

Enable continuous monitoring of resident space objects (RSOs)

Avoid Collisions

Protect high value satellites by managing the risk of orbital encounters

Commercialize Data

Valuable SDA data can become a new revenue stream via emerging data marketplaces

Fast and flexible deployment

With tactically responsive operations becoming the standard, how you deploy an upgrade is just as important as how you build it. That's why we've optimized both our technology and our business model to provide fast, flexible access to upgrades across different orbits.

Pre Launch Installation

Katalyst upgrades can be installed on high value assets (HVA) before they are launched.

Post Launch Retrofits

Katalyst upgrades can be installed in space by multiple robotic servicers

Staged on Orbit Transfer Vehicle

Access Katalyst upgrades when you need them via ESPAStar, Vigoride OTV, or other delivery methods

Attachment systems for upgrading unprepared satellites

Should manufacturers prepare satellites for attachments first? Or should they wait for plug and play interfaces? Unfortunately, this chicken or the egg question has slowed down technology adoption in space. But with Katalyst's retrofit attachment system, even unprepared satellites can become a platform for upgrades.

Mechanical System(Planned Launch 2025)
  • Utilizes Launch Adaptor Ring for secure attachment
  • Compatible with robotic servicers
  • Compatible with unprepared client spacecraft with Launch Adaptor Ring
“Universal” Attachment System(In Development)
  • Utilizes hybrid of advanced materials
  • Compatible with Multiple Servicing Spacecraft
  • Compatible with unprepared client spacecraft on flat panels surfaces to enable more flexible placement locations
